Birthday Shoutout …

Happy birthday to Harlem’s rudest and most unapologetic emcee, Lamont Coleman better known as Big L.

Big L

Raised in Harlem, NY Big L took NY’s hip hop underground scene by storm with his cleverly structured rhymes, his ability to spit in different tempos and his nasty bars. His first big break was on Lord Finesse’s “Yes You May (Remix)“, which was followed by his first debut album titled Lifestlyez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous released in 1995.

Never afraid to take on the mic, he collaborated with some of hip hop’s finest such as: Jay-Z, Fat Joe and Tupac. From slanging on the streets of Harlem to owning an Indie label, Big L was a true MC and a legend in the making. Shot down in his prime but never forgotten,  today we salute you. Happy birthday!
